It is the second decade of 21st Century, and a serving President of a nation is reported dead while battling rebels. After three decades in power, Chad’s President Idriss Deby died on Tuesday, 19th April 2021, from wounds suffered on the battlefield. In an interesting development, Military has suspended the rule of the land and has established The transitional council which has been tasked with an 18-month transition towards ‘free and democratic elections.’ This council will be headed by General Mahamat Idriss Deby, son of the deceased President.
