Bhasker Solanki
Senior video journalist and former BBC camera person Bhasker Solanki, now based in London, has covered over 100 countries in his 42 year long career. Having reported events where sometimes he covered up to five thousand deaths in a day because of natural and anthropological disasters and conflicts in Iraq, Afghanistan, Bosnia, Somalia,Rwanda and many more.
On the occasion of World photography day, Bhasker Solanki shares his experiences with The Voices on reporting from conflict zones. Mr. Solanki talks about the challenges, excitement and the critical importance of reporting from ‘ground zero.’ And remembers Danish Siddiqui, the brilliant Pulitzer prize winning photojournalist we lost a couple of weeks back in Afghanistan.
